TabLab Privacy Policy

TabLab is a Chrome extension that helps users review and manage open browser tabs and windows.

What TabLab accesses

TabLab uses Chrome permissions to access limited browser data needed for its core functionality:

• tabs: to read open tab details such as title, URL, window membership, pinned state, audible state, discarded state, loading state, and last accessed time
• storage: to save user preferences locally, such as stale-tab threshold, selected filters, sort order, sort direction, and pinned-tab protection settings

What TabLab collects

TabLab processes the following information inside the extension in order to provide its features:

• Open tab titles
• Open tab URLs
• Open tab state information
• Open window and tab counts
• User-selected extension preferences

TabLab does not ask users to create an account and does not collect personal profile information such as name, email address, phone number, or payment information.

How TabLab uses information

TabLab uses tab and window information only to provide user-facing features, including:

• displaying open tabs and windows
• identifying stale tabs based on last accessed time
• filtering, sorting, and searching open tabs
• allowing users to focus, refresh, discard, or close tabs
• supporting bulk tab actions selected by the user
• remembering local extension settings between sessions

What TabLab stores

TabLab stores only extension preferences locally using Chrome storage. This may include:

• stale-tab threshold
• selected filter
• selected sort field
• selected sort direction
• pinned-tab protection preference

TabLab does not store a browsing history database or maintain a remote copy of your open tabs.

What TabLab sends over the network

TabLab does not send tab data, browsing activity, or extension settings to any developer-controlled server.

TabLab does not use analytics, advertising trackers, remote logging, or third-party telemetry.

Data sharing

TabLab does not sell, rent, or share user data with third parties.

Data retention

Because TabLab stores only local extension preferences, retained data is limited to the settings saved in Chrome storage on the user’s device. Removing the extension removes its future access to tab data, and stored settings can be cleared by uninstalling the extension.

Security

TabLab is designed to operate locally in the browser and does not transmit tab data to external services.

User controls

Users can:

• remove the extension at any time from chrome://extensions
• clear extension data by uninstalling the extension
• change saved preferences from within the extension interface
